David is passionate about bringing new technology to market. He seeks the intersection of market needs and technological capability, and leads teams to develop the products that satisfy those needs.
David was head of research and development at the leading global manufacturer of large-scale maritime propulsion batteries, where he was responsible for several award-winning products created through his leadership in managing intellectual property, research & development, testing, safety and regulatory compliance. Other experiences include leading product development departments for industrial electric motors, medical devices, control systems, and outdoor robots for hazardous environments. David has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto where he studied robotics and control. He holds more than a dozen patents spanning lithium ion battery systems, medical devices, robotics and control systems.
